Blaenau Gwent Caerffili Rhymni – at the heart of the South Wales Valleys

The constituency was created for the 2026 Senedd election by combining the UK Parliamentary constituencies of Blaenau Gwent and Rhymney and Caerphilly. It is one of the Senedd’s 16 constituencies, each represented by six Members of the Senedd.

It stretches from Brynmawr, Ebbw Vale, Tredegar and Abertillery in the north, through communities including Rhymney, New Tredegar and Bargoed, and southwards to Ystrad Mynach, Nelson, Caerphilly, Bedwas and Machen.

The area is shaped by its valleys and hills and has a proud industrial heritage, with communities built around coal, iron and steel. Today, it includes busy town centres, former mining communities, smaller villages and more rural areas, each with its own distinct identity.

From the heads of the valleys to Caerphilly in the south, what binds the constituency together is the strong sense of community found in its towns and villages.

I am proud to represent Blaenau Gwent Caerffili Rhymni in the Senedd, and my office is here to help residents with issues for which I may be able to provide assistance.
